Announcing the “Gains Challenge”

Eligibility:

• The contest is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and are legal residents of countries where such contests are permitted by law.
• Participants must have a valid copy of CPUCores. Demo, trial, or media-watermarked copies are not eligible.
• Employees, directors, and compensated agents of CPUCores or its parent company, Smorb Digital, and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. This exclusion does not apply to volunteers, moderators, or other uncompensated positions. Special precautions will be taken to ensure fair winner selection when volunteers, moderators, or other agents are included in the pool of eligible users.
  
  

Contest Period:

• The contest begins on December 1st, 2024, and ends upon the official release of CPUCores ADVANCED.
• Each prize period runs monthly from the first day to the last day of each month during the contest period.
• Contest may be extended, cancelled, or revised at any time with no warning by CPUCores or Smorb Digital.
  
  

How to Enter:

• Participants must use the Beta version of CPUCores ADVANCED.
• To enter, provide valid before and after screenshots and/or videos of your game’s performance metrics using the CPUCores ADVANCED Beta client.
• Performance gains can be measured using increases in FPS, optimization of system resources, or other positive system effects resulting from using CPUCores ADVANCED Beta.
• Entries can be posted in the #gains-challenge channel on our Discord server or sent via direct message to “Smorb” for anonymity.
• Limit one entry per person per prize period.
• No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not increase your chances of winning.
  
  

Prize Details:

• One Prize Winner will be selected each prize period.
• The winner will receive one Steam game from their Steam Wishlist, not exceeding a value of $90 USD.
• The Steam game will be purchased and gifted to the Prize Winner by a representative of Smorb Digital to a Steam account of the winner’s choice.
• The game must be available for purchase and gifting on Steam. Games exceeding the value limit or not available for gifting are not eligible (e.g., premium versions of certain games, currencies of certain games, or games of questionable moral values.. no sex sim for you! – the lawyers said so).
• No cash equivalent or other prize substitutions are permitted unless specifically agreed upon by Smorb Digital and the prize winner.
  
  

Winner Selection and Notification:

• One winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received during each prize period.
• The drawing will be conducted by an employee of Smorb Digital who does not interact with users or respond to tickets, bug reports, or social media to ensure impartiality.
• Winners will be notified directly by Smorb Digital via Discord within five (5) days following the selection.
• Prize Winners will be contacted to verify compliance with all rules and to confirm eligibility.
• Prize Winners can choose to remain anonymous if they choose, or they may agree to have their username (only) revealed to the community, and absolutely no identifiable information gathered by Smorb Digital or CPUCores will ever be published or revealed.
  
  

Verification of Winners:

• Prize Winners must provide proof of age (18 years or older) and ownership of a valid copy of CPUCores.
• Failure to provide required proof or non-compliance with these Official Rules will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
  
  

Permissions:

• By entering, participants grant Smorb Digital the right to use their submitted content for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
  
  

Privacy:

• Personal information collected will be used solely for administering the contest and will not be shared with third parties.
  
  

Limitation of Liability:

• By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Smorb Digital from any liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or any prize won.
  
  

General Conditions:

• Smorb Digital reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time without prior notice.
• The contest is void where prohibited by law, including where doing business inside the country violates international treaties, sanctions, or other international laws of either Canada, or the United States of America.
• No cash equivalent will be offered as a substitution for prizes unless specifically stated by Smorb Digital staff.
  
  

Governing Law:

• The contest and these Official Rules are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
  
  

Disclaimer:

• This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Discord,  Steam, or any other publisher, game studio, developer, or representative of any of the above from titles that may be gifted.
• No Media/Demo/Publishing/Free copies of any games will be used as prizes, and no developers or publishers have agreed to provide such at any discounted rate. Prizes will be purchased from the Steam store directly at the market price at the time of transaction.
  
  

Agreement to Rules:

• By participating, you fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Official Rules and the decisions of Smorb Digital, which are final and binding.
